krtaverner99
Hello there, I'm here in search of some advice and wisdom of anyone who may have encountered a similar issue to the one I'm facing. The Building shown in the garage is suffering from a serious damp problem which I suspect is due to not enough care being taken in the damp proofing stage while building the patio and block paving areas surrounding. My solution is; to dig a 6'' wide trench around the two sides of the building, let brickwork dry then paint with water-resistant paint, dismantle small blown rose bed and drill hole into trench put pvc pipe with holes drilled in each side in bottom of trench( with fall towards driveway) backfill with large stones in conclusion my questions are; as I dig my trench is the substructure of the block paving likely to collapse in and if so what would you use to retain. any tips or issues you may foresee. Many thanks, Kai
