Pheo
Hi All, we are doing a loft conversion under PD. It’s relatively visible on the street scene due to its location on the road (next to a T junction) Obviously we have the condition of similar in appearance to existing dwelling house. We have a rendered front bay, brick construction elsewhere and redland 49 concrete tiles which would have been red when new, but are now grey / black with a hint of red. Because of the shape of the dormer, it’s not possible to do tiles because they won’t be hangable. So we have gone for render. I think this is ok as long as the colour is matched to the roof, as it’s similar in appearance but not the same materials. I did check with a planning consultant and they agreed that given the front bay is rendered, and this condition this should be ok but I’m getting cold feet again. Interested to see others thoughts.
