Initial thoughts on loft conversation

Good morning all, 

 

I wonder if anyone can share any expertise and or experience on my initial loft conversation thoughts.

 

I am weighing up the possibility of creating a fifth bedroom with en-suite in our loft. 
 

As you can see the roof will need a lift of some sort. 

- I only want to lift the rear section leaving the front the same. The footprint of the rear wall plate is approx 5m X 8m.

- What type of roof will be best, I have read about Stubbed Attic trusses and also Mansall roofs.

 

- Has anyone had a loft conversation this thin? If so what interval size have you achieved? 
 

- I’d also be looking to get the rear hip changed to a gable fully glazed.

 

We have already had a double rear extension here, a few years back, but didn’t have the funds for the new roof at the time. So any advice or examples would be greatly appreciated.
