Finding a structural engineer for foundation

We need to find a structural engineer to design our foundation for us, for an extension for which other drawings have been done by the oak frame company we are using.  Does anyone have tips / recommendations on how to find a good one, as no one local has been able to give us a personal recommendation.  We are based near Horsham, West Sussex.  Many thanks.

The IStructE have a 'find an engineer' service. An IStructE member is a pretty safe bet as the barrier to entry is a tough exam!
