Oil canning zinc roof

We’re considering a zinc standing seam roof for our new build.  In researching I’ve come across the topic of oil canning.  I know now this is just an inherent property in metal roofs and cannot be guaranteed against. Just wanted to hear some real world experience on the topic.

If your referring to the waviness I’m not sure if you can do much about it 

We’ve an architectural type building near us that was clad in zinc 

Looked bloody awful when first done 

To neat Now it quite wavy and looks much better 

 

There was one recently on GDs where the client let the Architect have total access to his wallet 

They installed lots of triangular vertical seam panels They where all wavy
