1930's House - Open plan kitchen diner

Hi everyone!

We are looking for some advice in relation to creating an open kitchen diner in the near future.

My idea is to remove the supporting wall separating the kitchen and dining room to create an open plan kitchen diner. My concerns are that the room will simply not be big enough to do this (See floor plan and separate photos of measurements below).

The 'Sun room' to the left of the kitchen is a Conservatory. My idea for this room is to turn it into a downstairs toilet and utility for the washing machine and dryer. I could do this within 12-18 months should the open kitchen diner go ahead.

My suggestion was to have a peninsula style kitchen, where is currently is without the separating wall and to run the kitchen half way down where the current wall stands.

Option 2 is to decorate, install a new kitchen as is, and wait for several years to save for a rear extension.

What are your thoughts?
