Guest28
Not sure if this is the right section of the forum, but was wondering if anyone has any experience with installing en-suite 'camping' pods (or think sometimes they're known as 'glamping' pods)? I was posting the other day about putting in a static caravan in, but now thinking about putting a pod or two in the garden, one to be used as an extra bedroom for family or perhaps rent out to friends (which would need planning permission to rent out I think) and the other as a home office. They wouldn't be in prominent locations so shouldn't blight the landscape, I don't really like seeing pods in obvious locations either. There are lots of them in my area that people rent on airbnb, I might ask around to see where they got them. I read about these frame kits on another thread in the forum, but they seem like a lot of work and a bit too permanent, would rather something that could potentially be craned to another location at a later date like in the video shot in Ireland linked below. The luxury pod from timber builds looks ideal, but a little expensive at £14,500 + 5% Vat. Guest28
I've been researching some pods and to get a completed ensuite one around 7 meters long and 3.5 meters wide it is around £25-30k. You can buy a frame kit for around £2k, it would probably work out much cheaper to kit it out by yourself? Has anyone used a frame kit to build a pod? https://www.cncdesign.co.uk/extra-large-glamping-pod-frame-kit-7200-3500.html
