There seems to be a national self-build scheme coming on line in Wales.

 

Key points

 

Loan up to 2 years, aiming to have it build and a mortgage by then

Can be up to 75% of plot and 100% of build ==> 90% plus

Phased release

Only applies to Council or HA supplied plots, it seems

Seems quite heavily centrally controlled

Intention is to develop database of available services plots

5 year lock in in new property 

You only get one plot per applicant, and no second try if you are done one
