After some insight as to how this part of a job can be rectified as the current roofers on the job are advising that this is how the roof will look due to to there being no additional baton next to the dormer. There are actually some issues identified which is being pursued when the dormer was put in less than 10 years ago rafters not secured, extremely bad sistering of rafters resulting in a dipped roof, non compliant insulation in roof void space etc. So the roofer brought in in addition to me arranging the local authority building control was carrying out the remedial works. Works started off OK until they got to the initial roof repair part that I initially brought them in for. Roof originally looked bad in this verge area before the reroof but now the repair has been undertaken it still looks aesthetically bad. Roofer said the gable wall is not straight also impacting the aesthetic but says that there was only one fixing on the wall when there should have been two. I have the video of the removal process exposing the original bodge from the dormer installation hower what I cannot work out is whether the roofer should have undertaken something else to rectify and try and align the tiles alot better. Photo with scaffolding is the new verge and the photo without scaffolding is the old tiles and verge. Bottom left shows the kickout

Hello people, this is my firs tread on this forumI I enjoy doing DIY job when I know how to do it. Saying that I'm relatively new to roofing and I only done flashing/pointing/valley repairs in the past. live in 1920's terraced house with gable roof. I've just finished re roofing the back of my house (garden side) using the mix old plain concrete tiles (cleaned thoroughly) and lots of new ones as well. I replaced all the battens as well as re-beded the verge and the ridge tiles and done repointing as well as new lead flashing. Now I'm about to do the front of the house and I would like to ask you for your opinion. I found a batch of new plain dreadnought clay tiles on eBay selling cheap. Would it be okay to reroof the front of the house using all new clay tiles similar in colour? I've seen properties which have newer extensions done with clay tiles while parts of the house still have concrete tiles on. So I did a full reroof recently. The damage we were getting was back so we decided to go with the only company operating during lockdown... this is a picture of the back of the house. There is a slope between the joint that they put to separate my house and my neighbours and the slates don’t sit flat on top of each other. More noticeable is the slates around the Velux window. I didn’t give it any importance initially but it just Doesn’t sit right with me. Should I call the roofer back?

Hi, a real newbie here. We’ve just bought a house with a very decent 5x4.5m conservatory, double hipped, coming off two house walls. The problem is the polycarbonate roof, which we plan to have internally insulated with a multi foil (with air gap) and UPVC cladding. I wondered, as an extra waterproof and insulation method, whether we could also put some box profile roofing sheets over the top of the existing poly roof, with additional air gap and multi foil layer between. I know the best solution would be to replace the roof with a solid one, but hoped this might be an alternative. Would it work?
