Hello,
new to the forum, and hoping to find a place to get advice and tips with timber frame building.
Living in Belgium, I'm making plans for an addition to our house, including a first floor level, over the addition and part of the existing house.
At the moment sketching and figuring out what I want before getting in touch with an architect (required in Belgium...)
I am wondering about laying out the walls, and struggling to fit studs in a 16" (center-to-center) grid.
How does one start a wall? Work and measure from left to right, then fill out whats left at the end? Or position the grid on center, then work towards to outside, then fill out?
Is there any common practice? Easiest way? Tips?
Thanks in advance!
