I'm looking to build a firm built-in wardrobe, at the lightest weight. I see that cabinets and wardrobes are always made of full panel sheets but I'm wondering if the following would be sturdy option.
-frame of the wardrobe made from 3x2 cls timber and then cladded with thin (4mm) veneered panel sheet.
- 2x 18mm ply cut into 2 inch strips and glued together and then used like cls timber to frame out the wardrobe and again cladded with thin panel sheet.
- use 12mm panel sheets to make cabinets/ wardrobes (most likely oak veneered ply).
The wardrobe won't have doors and will have mostly rails and shelves. I'll most likely have oak veneered ply to hide the frame.
