  1. I have had some remedial works which included replacing a rad. I noticed tonight that when I turned on the hot water the pressure gauge jumped up. On closing the tap the pressure returned to normal. Is it the expansion vessel?
  2. Hi all If you look at my brick thread I am currently having a house insurance claim. The last stumbling block is them replacing the radiator that was damaged. The insurers contracting company is making a huge song and dance that the radiator in the lounge is unusual and requires special ordering in? Its just a bog standard radiator to me? When looking around it takes a day or so for one to come in but they are readily available. Although they are not sitting on shelves ready to be bought like some common radiators.
  3. Thanks for the help. This was before the whole window was replaced with a new window and frame including the top bit as its a fake bay window. The reason for the ask was that one of the bricks not included in the picture attached had a hairline crack in it. They used a service called the brick doctor to repair the brick instead of replaced as they said their brickie couldn't source the bricks. I was surprised so wanted to ask
  4. Thanks for this reply. They have actually managed to re build most of the wall with the bricks that were already there. They have then used a company called brick doctor to match some other bricks. The above picture is actually it repaired. I just had never thought of the bricks as being unusual although I haven't seen another property like it. Yes we had to move out- thats a disaster as well as they only provided suggested flats miles away from where we currently live. All being well we should be back in next week. But minus a setee 😂
  5. See this pic. They are bricks come stones? Interesting you say that. Arguing on the repairs at the moment as they say they aren't able to replace them. And as for spec savers he has been charged with careless driving.... although he now has a Corsa on his drive. He managed to write off a 75 plate MG with less than 10 miles on the clock!
  6. Currently under going a home insurance claim due to impact. A neighbours brand new car was reversed into our front room. The insurance company are saying that the bricks of our house are unusual and hard to source? Can anyone confirm this is the case please?
  7. Hi all Recently got a new front window fitted. Its a stone sill and is a false bay window with a canopy at the top which was also replaced. Essentially the bottom looks like it sits on the two edges as there is then a drop away in the stone? This gap has then been filled with a piece of plastic trim?
