  1. ASHP with solar and battery would be great for you. Get as larger storage battery as you can with min 6-10 solar panels if you have space. If you manage to get a cheap night tariff of say 7p per 1kW and if you have 15 or better 20kW battery you can run the ASHP without getting from the grid. Between April and October you can export excess power at the end of the day at say 15p per 1kW. From November till March your solar will produce very little. I have 12 solar panels with 5.36kW combine power and on a cloudy day I get around 3 to 5 kW production a day and if I have not had a 10kWh storage battery, I would needed to use the grid. Now I only use the grid to charge the battery between 23:30-05:30 at 7p per 1kW and 99% of the time no more consumption of the grid during the day. In the ever so hot Summers now in the UK you will be pleased to use the ASHP to cool the house and sleep properly without extra expense, because there is plenty of sunshine and your solar will produce a lot of energy. Choose a good tariff which pays for export and it is cheap to charge the storage battery. I am with Octopus Go because I have an EV. If you can get something like that, would be great. In summary, get as larger storage battery as you can, even with less solar panels than planned. All the best.
