    Hello All

@Big Jimbo that is a very astute comment, the windows were fitted before the builder went into liquidation and while we were out of the country. Neither the private building control nor the LABC (we had to revert to them after the liquidation) spotted this. It was not until the PCC surveyor looked at them, at my request, that we noticed the windows with cladding around them on the front elevation were marginally too far forwards. The options were remove windows and significant amounts of cladding, buy bigger cills and refit or insulate around the reveals to avoid cold spots. We have gone for the latter option. Not ideal, but that's what we chose to do.
  2. Came across this forum recently whilst searching for information about BNG, after delving deeper I wish we’d found you all about 2 1/2 years ago. My wife and I are just finishing our build, hopefully by the end of this month. Maybe 6 months later than projected, so probably not too bad. Our struggles along the way have been for the most part due to our main contractor going into liquidation in December 24. In some respects this may have been a blessing, in others not so. We realise now that not all of the headaches end with the completion of the build; reverting to LA building control after the liquidation is challenging, we still have outstanding land transfer issues and obtaining planning permission for a ground mounted PV array is laughable. Our build is a new build replacement of an old tractor barn, close to the ridgeway in Oxfordshire. It seems the forum likes photos so I will attach a couple.
