  1. Does anyone know what direction the flue pipe should be. Our charwood country 6 just has a 1m flue pipe from stove collar to a cone shaped adaptor in the chimney. The flue sits inside the collar with fire cement around it There always has been a slight smell of smoke in the room We had a pizza oven installed recently and the fitter has the flue pipe around the outside of the collar. Perhaps this is how the charnwood stove should be. Im thinking if the flue is on the outside then there is no need for fire cement and less chance of smoke escaping
  2. Do you anyone else in Northern Ireland who can supply it, preferably precut.
  3. Maybe i will call up and check it out. Our roof is 3mm EZ glaze and its flimsy, although it is 4.4m long 3mm is going to be considerably cheaper so i dont want to get any thicker than i need to Should i be getting exact measurements or subtracting 5-10mm
  4. I have built a pergola will be closing in the sides with some perspex. Most pieces will be around 0.9mx0.3m. Have two large windows to do at 2mx1m Is 5mm perspex going to be ok. I could get thicker or i could get polycarbonate but i think perspex will be strong enough and stay clearer for longer
  5. Is it possible to use wood fillrr and still get a good finish with the oil/stain. Couple of cuts im not entirely happy with
  6. I was looking at textrol oil by owatrol and they have actually advised aquadecks as a better product for the pergola. So ill get a sample pot of movingui ordered and see what its like https://www.owatroldirect.co.uk/product/aquadecks/?attribute_pa_size=1-litre&attribute_pa_colour=movingui&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22020849347&gbraid=0AAAAADd9DWeULnD-UJvFDRlc4E8caicZ2&gclid=CjwKCAjw_fnFBhB0EiwAH_MfZmXAKLz4AqAO2iNBxuU0QZIWQkbsx9qKEKWupcKIA0F9A6nE2N3tzhoCN8YQAvD_BwE
  7. Hey all, we are currently getting a pergola put up. More of an outdoor room as will be completely closed in on completion, still a bit to go. The timber framing is all but finished, bit rough but hope to get it sanded, some poor cuts need filled and my question is what is the best treatment to use for it. I dont want to paint it. Im looking for more natural oak look or cedar Is there an wood oil that can achieve this and having stained wood before it always ends up peeling and a nightmare to redo. Stained a picnic table years ago and wouldn't stop peeling
  8. All finished. Its working well and has rained quite heavely and no water coming through. My only concern is the flue is too high but this is what was advised Is there a chance a storm could blow off the top 1m piece.
  9. No issues spending a few quid on the screws but don't you think tec7 will hold it down and keep it watertight.
  10. Plumber/fitter thinks tec7 would be a good choice for the flashing kit. This job is not something he has experience with, strugging to find someone in my area But i think it should be ok, we are going to put two bridgers then the roof support bracket inside the close off with the finishing plate. So only time we will go through the polycarbonate is the 200mm hole for the twin wall flue
  11. My fitter actually mentioned this yesterday, he doesn't want to screw it down, he just wants to get a tight fit for the flashing and then silicone it. Maybe thats the best course of action.
  12. I understand exactly what you mean. To be honest i think it will work fine without the support bracket. Funny enough, they forgot to send the flashing kit. Ive just sent them an email about this, this is the one they advised and pretty sure it's exactly what I need https://www.flue-pipes.com/roof-flashing-45-red.html
  13. I have ordered a twin wall flue kit for my brick pizza oven, it must go through a polycarbonate roof. Flue pipes advised the products i needed but im unsure where the roof support fits, if it goes on top then where does the flashing kit fit and if its underneath then where does the finishing plate fit. https://www.flue-pipes.com/roof-support-125-10494.html Can anyone help with exact installations ive a competant plumber friend but its actually not his line of work. No one in the area have been much help
