  1. Hi i had an out door porcelain patio laid 2 months ago. A couple of the slabs sound hollow - not when you walk on it but when you give it a knock with your fist. There is no movement and it all seems fine. Should I be concerned?
  2. I’m regrouting my patio with a non porous grout as my builder used a porous one (easyjoint pro - epoxy). There is some grout that is too difficult to remove as the gap is so small. is it ok to silicone over the top? Picture attached
  3. Hi My patio has been laid on a sharp sand and cement base (mot 1 underneath) I understand that this type of base is designed to be porous. My question is that is a concrete base like this still porous when it freezes? The My concern is that should there been any gaps under the patio, will any water drain when it freezes? My grout is non porous so my concern is more is should water ever makes its way in, can it escape. thanks

  5. After some advice please - My builder has a laid a new porcelain patio, on inspection, 1. they have laid a 7cm MOT 1 sub base and 6cm sharp sand and cement base, is that sufficient? 2. On some areas of the patio, I have 10cm x 60cm porcelain slips on the outside of my patio with a 9cm sharp sand and cement laid on mud ( no sub base). My turf buts directly up to this. Am I likely to have problems with this? thanks
  6. My builder has accidentally used a porous Epoxy grout (EASYJoint Pro) for my outdoor porcelain patio. I need it to be non porous. Is there a way I can seal it to make it non porous without having to regrout? Any help or advice welcome!
