Hi. Thanks for replying. I probably should have been clearer in my first message. We wouldn’t be doing anything initially beyond modernising the interior (cosmetic) but we want something we can stay in for a long time and extend/grow into. Our property now is a new build and we have been very happy here but there is no scope for improvement. I just wanted to gauge the buildability etc. I appreciate there are always risks around planning permissions. Thanks

We wouldn’t be looking to do anything straight away - we would like somewhere that has scope for the future.

My husband and I are really interested in a property that looks perfect for extending to the side. We could also do a rear extension but the garden isn’t huge and so utilising all the side seems the best way to maximise space. Could we knock down the current garage and build a new two storey extension then build a new garage where the side gates/caravan parking is. I can see that the staircase goes over the current garage, does this make it either incredibly expensive or impossible to knock down and rebuild around it? Is there anything else we could consider? Any guidance welcome!
