Hi I'm looking for ducting options to external vents (exhaust and fresh air intake). Given that these should be designed such that no potential condensation can pool, I'm keen to rule out that water pools in joints. It seems the only option for this would be if socket joints have male/female coupling and ends point downhill. I'm curious to hear other opinions. If I'm right, then most preinsulated pipes (e.g. Aerofoam, Blaufast) are disqualified. Thoughts?

Hi our MVHR unit will be in a tight space where external ducting for exhaust and fresh air intake need to dip down below a rafter before reaching the roof vent. I've read that the fall of the ducting should be towards to unit so that any condensation can run through the unit drain. That's not going to be possible. It's a warm loft and I'm planning on insulating the pipes. Possibly also have an enthalpy exchanger. Question: what is the condensation risk inside the external ducts and what mitigation options do I have? I have read about inline drainage in the ducting at the lowest point. However, I cannot find any such material to buy. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

Hi. ChatGPT tells me that there is a risk that insects (we have a lot of wasps in the area) are a concern for roof vents. Can anyone share their experience with insects and roof vents? Should they have mesh? What other maintenance of roof vents could there be? I have the option of putting them accessible but further away or out of easy reach but further away from the unit. Thanks for sharing your opinions.
