  1. That's why it didn't make sense to me. Thanks so much for your help clarifying!
  2. Thank you, so just to clarify, that measurement for the window from the floor is internal as I was reading it as external!?
  3. The new bedrooms will have EEW on completion of the build. But having read through Doc B1, point 2.10 for the general provision of an emergency escape window states 'The bottom of the openable area is a maximum of 1100mm above the floor' so not sure if that means we won't be able to use this as an option? Sorry if that's a stupid question. I want to make sure my ducks are in a row before approaching him with the information.
  4. They will have on completion of the work
  5. Hello. Looking for some advice re the need for fire doors. We have a dormer bungalow, so there is an existing front dormer and bathroom upstairs as per the original build in 1968. We have planning approval to install a rear dormer and in the architect plans, they include all doors to be installed/replaced with fd30's, even including the bathroom, downstairs wc, foyer door and under stairs cupboard door. I'm not sure if this is a requirement under building regs as all the information I can find relates to the build of a dormer/loft conversion in a bungalow where there is no reference to existing rooms in that space, so therefore there is the addition of a second floor in the roof space. There are three other bungalows with the exact same build situation on the the same street, who have had works completed in the last 6-18 months and none of them have had the fire door requirment with their plans and all have been signed off by building control. Is anyone able to help clarify? Thanks so much in advance for any help or advice
