Outside view I have an L shaped lintel ready to go. Is it ok to cut off the "upright" part of the L, 150mm from both ends so I just have the flat horizontal part of the L and slide it into the gap left when I drill out the mortar? Or is that a huge no-no?

I have a lintel to go above my door to the garden, it is in a corridor 90cm wide. There is no lintel at the moment that I can see. I need to raise the door by one level of bricks. 1, Do I even need a lintel? There would only be 3 courses of brick above as it's a Bungalow. 2, If I do need a lintel how do I support it both ends?

Ok, I hope someone can help me with this one, I have a garage 10.0 x 3.0 m, it has no insulation in the roof whatsoever. I cannot do a warm roof as there is no space above as the house roof is almost touching the garage roof. (Bungalow) The roof joists (200mm) one side are built into the wall, please see photo, so I can't fit over fascia vents. I cant fit upstand vents either as there is not enough room under the house roof. My dilemma is do I fit 23 mushrooms (there are 23 joists) or do I make a hybrid roof with the insulation (Celotex) rammed up right to the deck, foam gun any gaps and fit a VCL?

Scratching my head a little how to accomplish this, will put a post up later with some photos, I'm hoping someone will point me in the right direction. ✅️
