  1. I was going on the lines of the initial start up of motors being high demand less after and needing a type c rcbo or mcb... And not using 2 at the same time.
  2. worked on the premise that not all equipment will be on at the same time- havent bought any of the below yet so its just lights and plugs and electric roller doors atm compressor 2200w lift 2200w 8000w welder 7700w ev charger- dont have one anyway more for later if ever lights are led 180w used 10kw as a power
  3. i did a estimator on tlc and pretty sure it came as 10mm.....should it be 16mm.. or more then
  4. query i have 3 core 10mm SWA coming from garage to consumer unit and was thinking the best way to do this? plan was a junction box to terminate SWA and then feed double insulated meter tails into meter box to separate / or dual pole henly blocks the meter box wont fit a meter box fuse switch like: Lewden 100A 1+N 100A Metal Fused Switch - Screwfix but i would just fit this type instead. Click Scolmore DB700 80A Fused Main Switch | Toolstation garage will have its own CU - i have 10mm SWA about 26m(12m in a trench) to feed lights and ring- may have a compressor and welder in there for basic car repairs , mid height lift potentially, no EV but space will be left on a CU for it. electrician will do all the formal connections/ testing / reg with council but was just sorting all the cable routing to the meter box and garage meter box attached for info TIA cormac
  5. thanks for the reply
  6. morning nick thanks for the reply i only saw the surge protection in the garage of my friend who has an ev and when i looked online any of the EV type boxes had them in there- so just assumed it would be there. ive seen the integrated ev ultra swa 16 in cat5 and cat 5e but cant see much in a cat 6 version- i assume there is some induction issues if running them as separate cable type for a 6 but together on the wire i was going the route of box profile on roof and walls batten to the block.....either way the roof will be box profile cheers
  7. just looking for guidance, was thinking of getting power to my garage and futureproofing for EV car if i ever go that way it would have a radial set of sockets 5 doubles i think, lights and the space in the box for EV set up surge protector and RCD i might run an air compressor - maybe a welder at times i wondered if catenary wire set up is ok instead of underground and if 16mm 3 core with cat5 is the right size or too big? probably 30m run from CU to unit in garage no water in the garage atm but i might go that route was going to just use the earth to the house extended to garage and not add a TT rod set up the house is on an old board 1975 which i will change- plug in fuse with wires the earth set up appears TN C S as there is not earth band to the incoming supply 100amp fuse simple single skin block garage TIA
