We have just gone a few major renovations in our house adding a loft conversion and rear extension.
I've been made aware by our building control that I need to provide them with a Commissioning Checklist for the Mechanical Heat Recovery Unit we had installed - I won't go into too much detail about the installation, its probably for another thread but essentially we were given the heat recovery unit and our builder installed (But it isn't something that they've done before so they didn't do the commissioning).
The self-commissioning checklist does seem quite straight-forward so don't want to fork out money unless I absolutely have to.
For the question "What is the total installed equivalent area of background ventilators in the dwelling?" - Does the heat recovery unit affect this number? The only reason I ask is because we don't have trickle vents in the first floor bedrooms and the windows weren't touched as part of the refurb, but we have installed the air supply from the heat recovery unit to these rooms.
Whole dwelling ventilation rate:
Are offices counted as bedrooms? we technically have 5 habitable rooms but 3 are bedrooms and 2 are offices.
Calculating the continuous rate makes sense, the extract needs to be whatever comes out of table 1.3 and the supply needs to be the same number, but a couple of silly questions:
For the boost rate what is the requirement for supply and bedrooms, table 1.2 is only showing the minimum for kitchens/bathrooms?
Do I technically need to put anything in the form for the high rate? Based on my maths the continuos rate is going to be higher than the requirements for boost rate anyway.
I'd appreciate any advice/guidance that you may have, I know there is a link on this site that provides some useful tips but unfortunately I don't have permission to access it at the moment.
