  1. How big is the gap between the tiles? I have seen these and think they look perfect - But the other half isn't convinced, think she prefers the traditional approach.
  2. Thanks for the reply - Can you share any links to these products, I've been Googling but just want to make sure I'm looking at the same thing your thinking about
  3. We have had a new extension and would now like to put a new patio that is level with the threshold of our sliding doors. There are air bricks fitted underneath the new sliding doors - These go through ducting in the extension to the front of the house (There are additional air bricks at the front of the house). Is there a solution that would allow me to fit a patio whilst not blocking these air bricks? I would need to install a drainage channel along the front of these doors as well. My simple solution would be to use a hi-slot drain channel then cut a slot to allow ventilation - Obviously the biggest risk here is water from the drain flooding the air brick, but the slot would need to be so high that this wouldn't happen. I'd appreciate any other ideas that you might have
  4. Thanks for the reply @JohnMo I'm aware of the calibration certificate, that won't be a problem. Definitely not certified, I didn't think there was a certifying body? Also no design, but it's a very straightforward setup, and to be honest with the space we had available there wasn't many design options.
  5. We have just gone a few major renovations in our house adding a loft conversion and rear extension. I've been made aware by our building control that I need to provide them with a Commissioning Checklist for the Mechanical Heat Recovery Unit we had installed - I won't go into too much detail about the installation, its probably for another thread but essentially we were given the heat recovery unit and our builder installed (But it isn't something that they've done before so they didn't do the commissioning). The self-commissioning checklist does seem quite straight-forward so don't want to fork out money unless I absolutely have to. For the question "What is the total installed equivalent area of background ventilators in the dwelling?" - Does the heat recovery unit affect this number? The only reason I ask is because we don't have trickle vents in the first floor bedrooms and the windows weren't touched as part of the refurb, but we have installed the air supply from the heat recovery unit to these rooms. Whole dwelling ventilation rate: Are offices counted as bedrooms? we technically have 5 habitable rooms but 3 are bedrooms and 2 are offices. Calculating the continuous rate makes sense, the extract needs to be whatever comes out of table 1.3 and the supply needs to be the same number, but a couple of silly questions: For the boost rate what is the requirement for supply and bedrooms, table 1.2 is only showing the minimum for kitchens/bathrooms? Do I technically need to put anything in the form for the high rate? Based on my maths the continuos rate is going to be higher than the requirements for boost rate anyway. I'd appreciate any advice/guidance that you may have, I know there is a link on this site that provides some useful tips but unfortunately I don't have permission to access it at the moment.
