Hi all, Silly question time... I'd like to install an MVHR in our flat but I'm wondering where to start. I've got a quotation and high level design from BPC for our 53 square metres which has locations for the vents in the rooms. I'm sort of at a loss as to how to go about fitting the ducting. I think I need to understand the space I have above the ceiling, so it's a case of cutting a hole along the proposed route and seeing what's there? I'm trying not to think about if there's no space between the plasterboard ceiling and the joists, what would be my options there, drilling holes through the joists or have some area of the ceiling lowered? TIA, probably the first of many silly questions...

Hello everyone, I stumbled across this amazing resource via google. I'm a now skint renovator of our family home. A lot of experiences with trades people have forced me to turn my hand to bit and pieces and I'm getting drawn into to doing more and more work around the house. This is not to bash trades people, they are (in the main) professionals and can understand what needs to be done and execute it much quicker than me*. However, we don't have the money and as a plodder, we reckon we can get there later (we've already been in the house 8 years - what's another couple of months make to anything?)
