  1. Thank you very much for you're help. I was thinking there probably isn't going to be any play in that pipe. The self piercing fitting sounds ideal, but I'm a little skeptical, but probably just because I'm set in my ways. I'm thinking of anything goes wrong with the fitting, it could turn into a bit of a nightmare, as that pipe immediately runs behind a plastered in box section. I'm considering using a pipe under the kitchen sink, but I would have to go under the floor, down the hatch in the hall and crawl into the kitchen area to run the supply pipe into that cupboard. It wouldn't be nice at all.
  2. Here is a better pic of the pipe I plan on plumbing into. Something I'm not sure about though is that electrical wire that's attached the the water pipe. Is it ok to add a tee piece just above this wire connection, or does the copper pipe have to be a certain unbroken length?
  3. Hi, I need to plumb in our new Samsung fridge, but it's far away from the kitchen sink and the floor is tiled. The fridge is next to a cupboard where the water mains and gas supply enters the house as seen in the photos attached. I am thinking of adding a tee piece to the water pipe just above the stop tap and I'm looking for opinions on this please. The pipe is not in an ideal place for getting the pipe cutter on it, but it could be done. In one of the photos, I have photo shopped in where I plan on fitting the tee piece.
  4. It's just a shame MLS never got back to me. Does anyone know of anywhere else in the North West that may have the same style panels as mine? I've tried Howdens, but they only have 15mm and 20mm thick panels. B&Q don't have them either. There must be other kitchen suppliers that use the same ones as MLS kitchens
  5. After cutting the aluminium profile to fit, I primed and spray painted them with Tamiya gloss white, giving them plenty of coats. The paint finish turned out really nice. I then used epoxy resin glue to attach them to the cupboard. The glue also seals all along the bottom edge so no more steam or moisture will get to it. Here is the end result.
  6. I purchased some anodised aluminium unequal L profile (15mm x 10mm) that fitted nicely along the bottom edge of the cupboards.
  7. I've only photographed one side here, but the same work has been done to the cupboard on the other side as well. I used a Dremel to remove the affected material, then filled it with car body filler.
  8. After almost 8 years, our kitchen units are still in great condition, other than a couple of areas that needed some attention. We have two cupboards above the hob at each side. They get plenty of steam from cooking and the edge of the white coating was starting to bubble...
  9. Thanks. I don't know any of their names.
  10. Hi, Some years ago we had our kitchen fitted by MLS in Oldham. The kitchen is still in great condition, other than some slight lifting of the coating on a cupboard door, a drawer and the small panel below the oven, so to refresh the kitchen, I decided to replace these parts. I went back to MLS and they still offered the same range as our kitchen. Theirs was just a shade more white due to mine aging, so to make it look right, I ordered 4 new doors, all three drawers and the panel below the oven. They said they would get back to me with the price for these parts, but never did. I contacted them again a few times to remind them and each time I was told they would be in touch with the price, but nothing. Does anybody know who supplies MLS kitchens with their units and doors? Mine are 18mm thick, gloss white and just plain/flat, like a tablet. Even if they are trade only, I will be able to have someone get them for me. Thanks
