  1. The builder has left the project unfortunately. The less said about it the better...
  2. Ok thanks, So I leave a small gap above and get some steel packer sheets in there when the cement has set?
  3. Hi, I am looking to fit a padstone to support an already fitted RSJ (currently supported by an acro). The RSJ is runs the full width of the property (9m). It is already supported by two vertical steels. The bit that needs support is the overhang over the side extension (about 2.5m from the vertical support). The SE has specified a PAD12 (440 x 215 x 102mm). The builders have left a 140mm high gap to fit the padstone which isn't enough space to fit the padstone. So, I'm guessing I have to cut down the bricks below the RSJ to fit the padstone. I obviously can't raise the height of the RSJ since it's already locked in place by the two vertical steels. Would I allow a small 1-2mm gap below the RSJ which would be packed with steel or slate shims? Any advise and warnings would be much appreciated. Thanks Dan
