  1. Conceivably, the only thing that could block that particular section (the run from the hopper to the inspection chamber is less than 2 metres) is leaves. I would have thought the grate on top of the hopper would solve that issue. As I said, it's not a difficult thing to do, really, but just slightly irksome. Blockages could be rodded from the inspection chamber, after all.
  2. Long story short, gents. Building control have asked for a separate rodding point for my RWP on a new garden room. The RWP is cut 50mm (or thereabouts) above a hopper and grate, which allows leaves etc to be cleared. Also, we're going to install a trap so that no foul air can escape (the RWP will go into a new inspection chamber, which itself will tie in to an existing drainage system). Why do we need a separate rodding point for the RWP? In the grand scheme of things it's not hard to install, but the builder and I are scratching our heads a little. Thanks!
