Yes, you can and are welcome to express those issues in the survey. So far, the survey responses show that the biggest issues are planning permissions and finding available plots for self-builds. But it's still an ongoing study, so I'll definitely share the results here (if I can get more participants of course🙏)

So this is a follow-up to a previous question. We added a note below that question explaining what we meant by environmentally friendly and energy-efficient features, but I guess I should add that in here also. Thank you for the feedback, I'll revise it!

The survey is for three groups of people: those who already have a self-build home, those currently involved in a self-build project, and those who want to have a self-build home in the future. The questionnaire adapts based on your responses, so all of these groups are welcome to participate. Thank you so much!

Hello! Thank you very much for your participation! It was actually deliberate. These are called "attention checks" and these checks help us determine the percentage of participants who are carefully reading the questions, which directly impacts how reliable our data is. If a large percentage selects differently, we know we need to be cautious about the overall results.

Oh wow, that sounds incredibly frustrating. Two years is a long time! I can definitely relate to the planning struggles. It's amazing how much time and energy it can take. These problems can be seen in the survey responses too and I will try to mention these problems in my thesis.

So, I realized yesterday that I need 111 survey responses for the data in my thesis. Right now, I’ve got 85 responses, so I just need 26 more people🙏 It is difficult to reach people but I really like working with real data, and I’m hoping it’ll make a positive difference for self-build processes.
