Hello everyone. I'm a 77 year-old woman and my downstairs neighbour is 74.
We are having UPVC soffit installed to protect our flat from the elements.
However, there are gaps between the boards, and they don't appear to be cut straight. please see photos. Some of the work is being done by apprentices who seem to be just learning. we are being told that's is normal and that the gaps will be sealed with silicone. I would like advice on whether to accept this or ask them to redo the work. It's costing us an awful lot of money and I feel we may be getting fobbed off as we don't really know what they are talking about. Also, if they do use silicone will it be noticeable or will it look just as good as if the boards were close together?
I've posted two pictures although there is a third example all on one side of a not very big flat.
The work at the back of the flat looks great.
Many thanks for taking the time to read this.
