  1. Hmmn, the windows are here but could be changed I guess, thank you
  2. I'm told that it's structurally difficult, but it wasn't me that had the conversation with the builder. They are paid by the day so no issues there and I'm happy to pay to have it just right. This is the base of the window . If lowered it will sit just on the side wall. Astrium wall is that what they call it?
  3. Basically i want the whole thing lower. The question is really can it be done as i am being told no. The velux window is 98cm tall
  4. Bottom of opening is aporox 147cm . The handle will be about 210 cm from floor. Two windows in bathroom and the other on a study-landing. Edit and no they are not MOE Windows.
  5. Another pic. What I'm thinking is that the window frame itself will make the sightline even higher.
  6. Hi folks. Sorry to use brand name, but that's why we are having. I've spent a week stressing over these veluxes being set too high. The position was agreed with the builder but of course we have to live with it if it's wrong. The other half tells me that they couldn't go any lower, but i am sure that they could have sat lower down , at the top of the wall. What do you think? It's a cut roof and i know it will take a lot of work to reconfigure 4 windows, but worth it, yes?
  7. Stupid question as usual, but how easy is it to mark out the trench from the BReg plans? Is that usually done by a surveyor?
  8. Yes, that's one thing I failed to mention. We are awaiting approval of materials. If they take the full 8 weeks, we are stuffed. It's very simple, ie Oak cladding and clay tiles, and they did not require samples.
  9. Thanks chaps. Yes this is what I had read. It implies no need to pour concrete. As usual the lines are blurring in my mind with the mention of BC. Surely they would not even be involved in this ?
  10. Hi Guys. Our extension/refurb PP will expire on 12th Aug. New first floor, single storey extension, garage conversion, internal alterations and 1.5 storey detached garage block. I've seen guidance that suggests that the "digging of a trench for foundations, or part of foundations" is sufficient. Would the trench have to be full depth? The planning officer told me a dated photo could be sufficient. But what if were to start something else? eg punching a hole for a window in the side of the garage? or starting on the internal alterations... it's all part of the same scheme... Thanks in advance.
  11. Thanks J. I bet you have finished your build in F ?
  12. Bereft I was, to find that ebuild was no more. But here we all are once more. So glad you are all here and I'm looking forward to catching up on everyone's projects. As for ours, well, meh. Plans are gathering dust, and PP just about to expire. Shoot. Are we allowed to swear on here? I do hope so :-)
