  1. Can I install a diesel heater in my 5mtr x 5mtr outbuilding, what are the pros and cons , thinking its a good idea but now nothing about them any info greatly appreciated

Hi the building is within 1mtr of the boundary built on a sloping garden so the front is 2.5mtrs from original ground level to the tip of the flat roof is that the official measurement , so as the garden slopes away obviously the building is more than 2.5 mtrs from ground would they measure it from the front , when will I stop worrying about all this , 😀 I don't expect anyone to complain but with all the investment I'm keen to comply. appreciate any further advice
  3. Good evening, I am putting 6x2 timbers over building to make flat roof , 4.8 run , what furings do I need to ask for in the timber merchants , what size do I need , I think I need 47 to nil run but not sure exactly what to ask for .

  6. Good morning, can anyone help with roof questions. Building is 5mtr wide 4x8 depth , how do furings work , they sit on 6x2 but what fall will I need to achieve to ensure water runs away , what size,are furings and what cut do they need to be , hope this makes sense , any information greatly appreciated.

Thanks , I think it's going to be pretty near if not bang on, but i been overthinking it all and woke up in night thinking what If they made me take it down because its 20mm to high 🤣 I've had bricklayers in to do all blockwork so sure we'll be OK, thanks very much for your replies they really are appreciated, cheers
  8. So I've got a building of concrete blocks , I'm putting 6x2 timber then 18 mm OSB board and felt , so is the measurement from ground to underside of 6x2 timber , is that where I get the 2.5 mtr from ,?

  12. Thanks , valuable information for me this , builder is conscious of height 2.4 metres, can you help me though, eaves height is this the top of flat roof or roof timbers , can you explain what eaves height is exactly as I am confused in my understanding what exactly is ment by this . Cheers
  13. What about plasterboard inside can I use standard or does it have to be fire proof pink plasterboard, given the building is concrete what is the correct thing to do , can you advise me on this please

  15. Building is underway 5mtr x 4.8 mtr concrete block constructed garden room , built within 1mtr of boundary mostly of non combustible materials, permitted development, am I ok to put flat roof made of timber and felted under permitted development given its within 1mtr of boundary

Thanks , all things to consider, we digging out with digger to get insulation into floor , digger doing footings as well , all starts next week , mostly expert labour has been employed just wanted to double check on the boundary thing , 5mtrs wide by 4.8 mtrs and going 50000mm up to fence , I believe this allowed given it non combustible am I right , cheers for your input

  20. Building garden room 5mtrs x 4.8 mtrs , within 1mtr of boundary concrete blocks , 2.5mtrs high , can you advise of allowable and what issues I could incounter any advice would be appreciated.

Hi , I am building garden room 5mtrs wide x 4.8 mtrs in my garden , concrete blocks, i am building within 1mtr from boundary on 2 sides , intact 500mm gap between garden room and fence , building is concrete so non combustible is this allowed under permitted building regulations please , thanks , anything else I should consider.
