  1. This is probably a silly question, but please bare with me. If a 32mm basin waste maximum run is 1.7 meters, does that mean the entire pipe run from basin to larger waste pipe can be a maximum of 1.7 meters, or does it just mean a single part of the run can't exceed 1.7 meters, I'm sure it's the former but I'm just wanting to double check. If that's the case, can I use a coupler to go from 32mm > 50mm (50mm rather than 40 as I have spare pipe already) to allow a longer total length, obviously provided the fall is okay. Thanks for any advice.
  2. Really? so all this talk of thixo etc on the more expensive stuff is just marketing?
  3. I'm looking for recommendations on standard set s1 tile adhesives for my wet room install, using 30x60x8.5, bit overwhelmed by the choices. Had been considering kerakoll h40 gel or maybe ARDEX x77, any thoughts?
  4. Hello, I’m in the middle of building an en-suite bathroom (project is actually much further along than the picture). The wall with the circle on it is part of the chimney stack. Before this project, there was a ‘hit and miss’ style vent over the rectangular hole in the chimney. The wall in question will be one of the walls of the new en-suite shower, which will be covered in tile backer board and then tanked. My obvious concern is that if I just block up this hole I will cause ventilation issues in the chimney stack. I had initially planned to put another hit and miss type vent in this location in the shower, but now that I think about it, I am concerned that humidity / water vapour from the shower may actually cause damp issues in the chimney since it’s in such close proximity to the shower, and that I would be compromising my shower wall tanking. The tubing you can see hanging down is a 4 inch inline fan for what that’s worth. We don’t have any plans to use the fireplace (one the other side of this wall and another downstairs) and may later remove the top of the chimney at the level of the roof. Currently we’ve put a ‘draught excluder’ made of wool in the chimney above the fireplace, obviously to stop draughts.Any advice would be greatly appreciated, cheers.
  5. Just as an aside since you seem to know your stuff about tiles, would you go for R10 or R11 version for a wet room?
  6. Thanks for you reply that's encouraging to hear from someone who has actually ordered from them.
  7. ah, I only need around 40m2, do you think I'll have any options with roccia or are they strictly over 100m2?
  8. I'm trying to source some specific tiles from Marazzi, but it seems most UK dealers are just re-sellers that rebrand tiles under their own name from Spanish / Italian manufacturers, so it's difficult to find the tiles I'm after. I found the Tile.Expert and can get the tiles I'm like, they have decent trustpilot reviews, but have my reservations about the website. Anyone got an experience ordering from them? It's a Maltese company that ships tiles directly from Italy where they have a warehouse, I ordered some samples and they came quickly. The price of the tiles is much cheaper than any UK stockists with similar tiles, even considering large shipping costs. Alternative, if you have bought Marazzi tiles before, where did you source them from? Thanks
