  1. Yes it is a pop up bar and needs to be moved around in a van
  2. Greeting! I have made 6 benches up from pallets that I want to bolt to brick walls. They need to be strong enough for people to lean on or to hold books on it Any ideas on brackets and type of screws please? Thanks
  3. Would wood screws not show up and damage the threads that they have made in the wood from constant screwing and unscrewing?
  4. So I bough 5x 13' scafolding boards (well they where 2" short of the 13' that they claimed!) Removed the metal platting on the ends Lined 3 up in a row at the front of the 12' long bar Cut 1 board into 3 pieces and placed it up at one of the corners of the bar So how can I join them together? I want to join them together and then dismantle and reassemble them as its a pop up bar. Is the "Biscuit Machine" no good for this, is the Biscuit Machine a perminent fixture? Some one surgested joining them with a place of metal underneigh, but not sure how this will work! Do you think coach bolts bolted to the frame will show up? The boards are new, do you think they need sanding or should I just paint them with the same stuff as the sides of the bar (Rustins stain, dark oak) Should I burn them first before painting?
  5. I got quoted for 13' scafolding boards, 10 quid each plus 15 delivery. Dose that sound OK to you?
  6. I just see photos of what it is like when its done, but no actual photos of it being done
  7. yes please? worth a look? But I think the boards would not cover the width of the counter as counter is 2" wide and will need more then one. Was hoping for an all in one look though
  8. How would you clean them up and paint them? Any ideas on what they would look like after, anyone done this before so I can see the after effect please? What do you think of my tree trunk idea?
  9. So I painted it in the end I am wondering what to make the counter top out of? At first I though but a cheep counter top from say wicks Search counter top | Wickes.co.uk Then after seeing it, I though about using a slise of a tree trunk
  10. So you prefer the pain then that stuff looks a lot more expencive then what i have got are you saying use a lighter color then what i have done?
  11. so i did some samples on some scrap bit of wood The top ones are unburnt And the bottom ones i burn with my blow torch and sanded down with a wire brush The furthest to the left ones are done in some clear varnish I had laying around 2nd to the left are in some ronseal fence paint I had laying around The 3rd to the left (middle) was done in "Fortress Garden Furnature Oil" sold hear Fortress 1Ltr Clear Furniture Oil - Screwfix The 4th to the left (2nd to the right) was done in "Rustins Outdoor wood Stain" Sold hear Rustins Quick Dry Outdoor Wood Stain Dark Oak 500ml | Toolstation And the last ones closest to the right where done in the above stain first then the above oil after (is that the right order to paint it i ask?)
  12. what do you recon to this product? No Nonsense 1Ltr Clear - Screwfix
  13. He is using a differant type of burner on his gas. Do you think this is special or will my blow torch work the same? What about sanding; steel or copper or nylon wire brush? will orbital sander do the same? (and verius other grinding pads to) Though i am not impressed with any of the resaults hear though
