Hi All

I'm buying a house in Gloucestershire. It's build around 1800 and has a large cellar beneath the kitchen. Upon viewing, I noticed that the owner currently stores goods on wooden pallettes and I could sense that the floor of the cellar gets wet. I imagine when there's heavy rain, the water runs down the steps and seeps under the doorway with ease.

I'm a handy guy but not in the building trade. I've been on Youtube and seen solutions involving a drain and a sump pump. Would this eliminate the problem of water filling the cellar floor?

I've attached two pictures showing the opening of the cellar from inside and out.

	Thanks in advance.
