  1. The decision to seal the wall is partly to prevent the walls becoming wet in winter and blowing their faces - areas of the exterior wall appear to not dry out as quickly (or at all) after a downpour hence the possible suspected issue with the insulation.
  2. I think there is possibly penetrating damp going through dritherm insulation
  3. Hi all, I am considering using Microshield Ultra Masonry on my external brickwork to ensure it is water repellent, has anyone used this product before and what have your experiences been with it? Thanks

  5. Hi all, I am considering coating the brickwork on my new build with a water repellent cream but have a couple of questions. Firstly, my brickwork has only been up in total one year, I know normally it is recommended that prior to coating, you wait for a few winters to allow the salts to come out of the bricks - are there any issues I would cause by coating the brick now and not waiting this time? Secondly, does anyone have any recommendations of products they have used before - I specifically want to use a water based cream and have been looking at Stormdry or Microshield Ultra. Any help and advice gratefully received. Thanks,
  6. Hi all, Hoping someone here can help, I am building a house and have used Dri Therm Cavity Slab 32 insulation. Does anyone know if both faces of the slab are coated for water resistance? Is there a specific face meant to face the exterior wall or does it not matter? I can’t find any information on this online at all. Be grateful for any replies. Thanks 😊
  7. Hi all, I am building a new house using Kassandra Multi Reds and using 125mm Drytherm insulation. I have noticed sections on the exterior brickwork soak up rain and remain damp after other sections have dried. These sections are mainly where the brickwork went up first. The cavity is full filled with the insulation throughout. The roof is already in place and there are no leaks/issues. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a remedy? Thanks in advance.
