About to do some insulation work and trying to figure out if it would be worth pumping my cavity walls with beads ? I live upstairs in a (2004 build) Duplex apartment, Concrete slab floor, I have been told by an Engineer that its probably 100mm cavity and 50mm expanded polystyrene insulation inside, pumping would give me an extra 50mm of insulation. Worth it ? I heard the outer leaf can remain wet once the cavity is gone ?

How could I get more insulation in there though. Its a cavity wall, building built in the early 2000's i believe. -

There are some vents on the eaves so I think it should be well ventilated even if I foam elsewhere. -

No , I don't see any salts. What would the presence of them tell me ? -

Please see the pics below. I've spotted some damp on this outside facing wall (first floor) and not sure how long its been there. My first thoughts are maybe there's a leak in the radiator pipe behind the plasterboard. The leftside of the rad is easily explained by the bath but the right side of the rad has me puzzled. Any ideas ?

I have a terraced shed that I want to seal/paint the inside of and put up some storage shelves. Its block construction with cement floors and always seems to be pretty dusty and full of cobwebs. Any ideas on what cheap decent sealer I could use for floors and walls ? Also considering using expanding foam on the tops of walls to keep the growing false widow population under control. What would be a suitable foam for the job ? Many thanks

Pipe banging, don't want to have to lift floorboards.

Do you think leaving it like that might cause a leak ? -

There are a few spot lights in the ceiling so I could try removing those to see . If the tap is closed slowly it doesn't happen. -
When I turn off the hot tap in my kitchen , I hear a thump/bang noise coming from somewhere upstairs above. If the cause is a pipe in the kitchen ceiling loose from it’s fixing , how would I go about securing the loose pipe without having to lift floorboards to gain access to it?

Problem with a suspended ground floor in a small room. For some reason its really bass and boomy sounding when you stomp on it, seems like the whole room is resonating and acting like a giant drum being hit. The walls are solid though so that's good. Any Ideas or am I looking at a big job to cure this ?

Looking at this house for sale and I've noticed there seems to be a cracked lintel over the patio door on the right if you zoom in. The pain of glass below has a wide crack so I'm guessing the door frame must be taking some of the load. there is a converted attic space above. potentially serious problem ? Easy to fix ?
