  1. I had a fire engineers report, who says I need an AOV to vent smoke from my stairwell. Did you need something like that?
  2. Hi, I'm self-managing a renovation of a Victorian house. It's feels like it's all gone pretty terribly. We're moving in soon as the builder wants to move on, and there are certain things that aren't in place. He's become quite unhelpful. One of these is the fire requirements we need, as our kitchen is open to the stairs, and it's a 3 storey house. We need a mister system (partially fitted) and an AOV (automatic opening vent) at the top of the series. I'm a bit worried that these might not get sign off, or may just be too hard to fit. One get out clause is to restore the wall between the kitchen and stairs. The thing is that the kitchen has got engineered wood floor on top of wet UFH. some of the wall would pass over this. Can a wall be built on top of UFH, or will the heat cause problems?
