  1. Hi my Building Control guy is asking to see the tanking applied to a large external retaining wall, is this really necessary as its not part of my house. The house walls that are underground do have tanking so are OK. He has admitted he sees very few ICF houses so Im looking for evidence that says its not necessary. Pictures taken during construction dont show any tanking and my builder is no longer involved and hard to contact. As he handled all material supply I dont know where he got it from to ask the suppliers. I'm in Cornwall.
  2. Hi , I am having Cedral Click installed on a wall that goes up to a terrace. I was thinking of using a flat slate lintel/coping stone on top of the terrace wall but Cedral requires ventilation and a mesh profile so i am wondering how much of a gap under the coping stone I will need (10mm seems to be mentioned in the context of a soffit.) and also how much the coping stone should extend away from the wall to stop water ingress..... any comments or advice ?
  3. Do I need a breathable membrane over my ICF as seems to be suggested for cavity wall when cladding....I will be using Cedral Click.
  4. My contractor tells me his airtight test guy wont test a house with a door from Rational , something to do with the way the door is made and it might damage the doorframe? Anyone else hear of a problem like that? Anyone know of a solution that will avoid that? Happy to hear from anyone who could an airtight test safely in Cornwall.
