  1. Heating pipes are under shower waste pipe, and slightly touching, can this be future problem
  2. Hi, got some Abacus tile backer boards for my shower, floors and masonry plastered walls, what adhesive could i use to fix them, there own KST adhesive is quite expensive, wounder what else could i use?

  5. Can i seal all gaps in old floorboards on first floor, with Rockwool Acoustic Intumescent Sealant, before laying new engineering floors, i got few boxes of that stuff, wondering is it flexible for any movement.
  6. can i put some new joists under the rafters like in picture, because the way some of the old joists overlap each other that I can't atach the new joists on normal side only the rafters side, the engineer said is not recommended, but don't really know how to do it differently. i could ask engineer a gain but it takes 2 days to get answer.
  7. so got email from engineer to double them with 2x6, and change binder to 2x6. Could you explain me how is " SPLICE THE CONNECTIONS WITH 1 METRE MIN SPLICED TIMBER SECTIONS" looks like.
  8. ? no, i got a lot 2x3, so was thinking to use 2x4 , where struts is pushing ceilings and in other places somehow use 2x3, if not will get more 2x4 not a problem

  13. There is a wall, in the middle and on the ground floor there is rsj beam, where wall goes, but it looks like was there long time a go I had engineer, still waiting for calculations from him. He advised me to sister the joist.
  14. hi, looking to put new plasterboard on first floor ceiling but my ceiling joist ar sagging quite a lot in the middle, the struts are pushing them to sag. i have 3 struts each side, as in pictures. Could you give me advice if it's ok if i put 2 acrow props for each side to hold purlin then cut two struts which is parallel to each other, then sister joist ( only the ones is holding strut) with same 3x2 c24 timber, level them up. Add shims where brick wall goes in the middle under joist. And then make same strut with new timber on now doubled 3x2. and then move to another two struts.
