I have these Eurospec Ceam hinges.

You can get them for around £17 each ex VAT here, a little more if you need fire proof or heavier duty ones.

These were by far the best value I could find.

These are the magnetic latches that I have.

Would these magnetic latches fit into a cheap 34mm thick door?

The installation guide says you have to drill a 24mm hole in the edge of the door.

The latch is 29mm wide including the frame on the surface so it should just fit but will need to be well centred.

There seems to be quite a bit of technical detail on the web page.

Thanks. Tbh they'll be worth more than the doors! ?

They take "standard" handles etc?

@AliG, I've ordered two, one "ordinary" as per your link for the bathroom cupboard door and then a "privacy" one for the main bathroom door. Not sure on how they differ...

Best sharpen my chisels!

? The magnetic door catch people refer to everything as "precision" then tell you to use a "24-25mm" bit. I mean seriously, which is it? Stuff like this gets my goat!

Maybe an "unimpressed from Sevenoaks" email is in the offing! Best not pi$$ them off in case they delay my order...

It’s so you don’t have to buy a specific spade bit to do them .... and I would be amazed if you could accurately drill a hole to +\-1mm anyway with a spade bit in a door ..!!!

I'm a bit lost as to how this magnetic lock works:

I'm used to this sort. The handle operates the sprung top catch. The thumbscrew operates the lock with an emergency release thing the other side. Again with the pic why no second handle?

These are my magnetic latches......privacy bathroom door and ordinary door.  I’m not sure how the thumb turn privacy latch works as it looks exactly the same as the ordinary door bar the thumb turn.

Would you mind please, measuring the centre of the handle to centre of the privacy latch.

Thanks. Your 2nd picture gives centre to centre at about 3.5".

Oddly enough mine will come out the same. Decided to move the handle centre to the top of the lock bar (970mm from floor) and the privacy to dead centre of the lock bar.
