Drainage field / soak away detailing for submission

Can anyone provide me with the detail they submitted for building regulation approval of their foul drainage field / soak away? I am not sure how much detail I need to go into. Would love to see what docs you submitted.

Thanks!

Thanks, I've got my size and a 'floor plan' layout showing the area and pipe layout and trench size etc, just wondering if I need to do a diagram showing the slope and the ground make up etc

Nope - standard cross section which is 300mm trench, pipe 100mm up surrounded by 10mm washed gravel and geotex wrapped pipe, or a geotex lined 300mm trench with the pipe in the centre of 100mm gravel all round.

Standard perforated pipes, 1:80 fall. You may want to link the ends of the pipes together too - make either a D or a flat 8 so if it gets blocked there is always a flow.

All you need is your percolation test results, from which you calculate the area of land needed, then  a plan showing where on the plot (or off the plot) that soakaway area will be.  Allow for minimum distances from the soakaway to buildings, site boundary, highway and any watercourses.

You are demonstrating that you have a design that works for the plot. Exact layout of pipework within that area does not matter.
