PeterW 1,983 Posted February 9 Ecover products are supposed to be tank safe - check them carefully in the shop though as I think one of them is only use sparingly.
ProDave 1,884 Posted February 9 We use the Ecover range of products

This stuff is a bit cheaper - but still expensive compared to beach. We're hoping to use it, and Ecover as @PeterW suggests.
newhome 1,607 Posted February 9 The Method products are good but maybe a bit more expensive than Ecover https://methodproducts.co.uk/products/toilet-cleaner/
Simplysimon 113 Posted February 10 someone did a test with bleach versus water and there was very little difference after the flush, give it a good clean and it'll be fine, save the money.

Oh, glad I don’t drink it then 😱, does it do a treatment plant any harm?
JSHarris 3,003 Posted February 10 The main active ingredient is phosphoric acid. It's very unlikely to do any harm to the treatment plant, mainly as the concentration would be pretty low. Phosphoric acid is also the stuff used to convert ferric oxide into ferric phosphate, the black anti-corrosion coating seen on things like guns.
