Can you hit a nail on the head?

Yes, more often than not. But if the angle is awkward or anything I start with a few light “ranging” taps and work up to proper wacks whereas a hammer tacker is more of a one-shot thing, isn't it?

Re: insulating the underside of floorboards when there's crawl space

I've read a number of articles about using loft insulation for the job. The recommendation is 200mm earthwool.  Did you insulate the floorboards on the underside? If so, what type of multilayer foil insulation did you use and how was it held in place? Netting or what? Thanks

I bought and electric  arrow gun fior doing under the floor to hold up the 2L2 bubble foil + sf40 multi foil toseal off the joistsand keep heat in there against any drafts in  crawl space

I have a hand one but by the time you have used a box of staples your hand will be dead especially if doing it upside down especially if joists are old + wood has gone hard
