Acoustic Roll as Roof/ceiling insulation?

Hi there,

got a few rolls of earthwool 100mm acoustic insulation. enough for probably 3 layers above a ceiling that I am putting in.

Can I use this as the required insulation above, or is it very different from normal wool insulation?

the u/r value figures I can find online seem to be the same, but just thought I'd check

No problem using it. The acoustic is usually more expensive though as it can be used vertically unlike the cheaper loft insulation which is only horizontal. It's the added expense reason you don't see it used in attics.
