Fascia and gutters

Recommended Posts

Nice looking as I've had both fitted to my house, extension and garage and using leftovers for the new shed.

We replaced all uPVC stuff on current house so not new build

Very expensive to buy

Very expensive to install for me as none of my eaves etc were level

Everything needs to be spot on level

Downpipes and gutters are very noisy when raining. The noise just travels through our walls for some reason but the aluminium is very thin so no mass to it like a cast iron setup and plastic just gives a bit so less noise I guess

Metal gutters on a sensible budget? Take a day trip to France and load up with diy store zinc gutter. A bit a knack to soldering it together, but looks excellent. The cost saving will more than cover the travel. Rolled edge zinc fascia is available too....

We have Lindab guttering. It's been up about six years with no problems. It's different to standard guttering in that you cut a hole in the gutter where you want the downpipe, there isn't a standard downpipe section. If you follow the instructions about using hand tools for making all the cuts and not using power tools the galvanizing creeps back over the cut and there is no rusting.
