You sound like SWMBO!

:) Your missus has the patience of a saint IMO but at least you stick at it. Mine used to get bored and leave jobs half finished for the duration ...

The tiles at the threshold will obviously get a tad higher with adhesive under them. 8mm tiles so maybe top of tile will end up 15mm above the concrete? (Once down I can can sort the door frame & door).

The room next to the bathroom is the "stairs" room. This will be dug up (concrete floor) and built back up much the same as the bathroom. Instead of its own UFH loop it'll just have all the loops to the other rooms running through it as it's central 'ish to the house. As a high traffic area it'll be some sort of engineered wood flooring.

So what, if anything can I add in terms of trim to this tile edge? This to protect the edge and to allow future integration with the wood floor?

Cheers

Bugger maybe? :(

I'd planned to use this tile adhesive:

Cheap and long working time so ideal for me, but...

Says in the small print it's OK for bathrooms but not specifically wet rooms. Main worry is that it says it's no good for heated floors:

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Put a 3taper on the pockets. Primed with 5:1 SBR then used my special tool. You can't buy this in the shops! Does two different depth pockets:

They'll do!

Right then I'm going with Larsen tile adhesive products. NI company, products get good reviews. If anyone knows any different let me know!

This acrylic primer:

 https://decoramic.co.uk/larsen-acrylic-primer-tub-primer-5l?search=larsen

And this adhesive, I'm assuming I use grey adhesive with grey tiles? For some reason grey is cheaper than white.....

https://decoramic.co.uk/larsen-flex-standard-set-single-part-adhesive-20kg-grey?search=larsen

I'm going with a 6mm bed on the floor as it's so level. They reckon 4-5mper 20kg bag so that's half that coverage with a 6mm bed? I've got just over the 5m2 typically so I'm going to just get 3 of the 20KG bags to start with and see how I get on with it. Any left over can start the wall tiling.

A question.....the tanking kit comes with "acrylic primer" would that be similar stuff to the Larsen gear?

Cheers

What colour grout are you having? If light you might want white adhesive so that there is no chance of seeing the grey adhesive maybe?

No idea. She wants white I want grey!

I got the primer,  adhesive and grout as "we" have decided on white grout... :(

When I got to the place they didn't do the Larsen extended set stuff (no real call for it, they just do the rapid), I wanted so I got this:

With this primer. Slightly more expensive than the Laticrete (same brand as the adhesive) one. Guys there reckon I need to put this primer on the tanking membrane and leave to go off before putting adhesive down?

And this grout:

Nothing more will happen on the tiling front until the end of next week when I get the rest of the tanking done.

Unreal!

A message from Amazon yesterday saying the tanking kit had been dispatched by the supplier and would be delivered 8th August.

Another email today saying it's been delivered.  Wandered down to our post box and somehow they've wedged the rather large tanking kit in there!

Even less of an excuse now! :)
