Digger1 Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 If you use a building control thats not associated with your local authority where can you find a copy of your completion certificate? Are the uploaded to a portal somewhere?
DevilDamo Posted September 15, 2023 Posted September 15, 2023 It’s called a Final Certificate. You should first try the Approved Inspector. Failing that, your LA should have a copy but on the basis the works have been inspected and signed off by the AI.
Digger1 Posted September 20, 2023 Author Posted September 20, 2023 The building inspector keeps fobbing me off saying he will chase it up. Its been 6 weeks now since he verbally agreed everything was ok. Im actually wondering if ive been scammed somehow!
DevilDamo Posted September 22, 2023 Posted September 22, 2023 If you have been chasing them but without any luck, see if the CICAIR can help… https://www.cicair.org.uk
Digger1 Posted September 23, 2023 Author Posted September 23, 2023 Yes i will call them first thing Monday. is there a set period of time a building control officer has to produce the completion certificate? How does the process work, do they provide the certificate or does the governing body provide it?
DevilDamo Posted October 2, 2023 Posted October 2, 2023 Not sure about a set time but it should be matter of days, maybe a few weeks as opposed to months. It would be issued by the appointed Building Control authority/company.
