Orangery roof

nod

Recommended Posts

We finally took delivery of the copings and lantern for the orangery

the local company offered to install the lantern £900 for cash

Talk about easy money Very simple to fit It took my wife and myself three hours to install

came in kit form and assembled like mechano

Fitting the last two sets of four sash windows wasn't so straight forward

i had the manufacture and joins in a set of four

but had to take all eight sash windows out to unload them

How do the two levels of roof work?

Thanks

it took a bit of thinking about

Id run the joists cross ways

So I marked out at 400 centres and fixed a 70 x 18 mill strip of ply in the centre of the lantern Both top and bottom and a 10 mil strip 400 either side of centre Then boarded out with 15 mil osb

Then the multi layer foil insulation

and then I fixed 70 mil down to 10 mil tapers to corispond with the osb strips Which created a nice crown top and bottom

then I used the OSB 3

to board it out

works really well

wgen it rains heaven it pours out of the temporary pipes at the side

I hadn't realised until this morning, but Eurocell are one of our local successes, and seem to have a very good reputation.

They are a £200m turnover business based within 5 miles of where I live, and manufacture their products in Alfreton, Derbyshire. Largest UK based PVCU profile manufacturer / recycler. I hope they stay independent; we require a Mittelstand. Founded in 1974, , and hahave been through a couple of ownerships; now independent and on the stock exchange.

So, yes ... buy Eurocell if they meet your needs.

Hopefully suppliers like Sunamp will follow a similar or better growth pattern.
