How good is apollo thermofoil es insulation?

This is one of the multi foil thin "insulation" products.  I don't think you will find anyone here that recommends them.  They seem to work by reflecting radiant heat, and are not necessarilly a true insulator in the normal sense.  If you are thinking you can insulate your house with a thin layer of this sort of stuff instead of thick layers of normal insulation, you are going to be very disappointed indeed.

based on the BBA cert http://www.radflek.com/downloads/BBACertificate.pdf with a 25mm void on one side it is about the same thermal resistance as 11mm of PUR for ceilings, 17mm for walls and 20mm for floors

exactly what i was thinking, the sales guy's engineer was using this stuff with 280mm of spray for 0.1u. I cant see why we dont just spray thicker depth and miss this stuff out.

Prob because some don't have the extra space available ? At least the manufacturer of this foil isn't trying to palm it off as something it isn't . They clearly state the use of it in conjunction to an already insulated surface, or stand alone, so folk can decide for themselves. 

Would this not also form a vapour barrier, thus killing two birds with one stone ?
