Are you under the planning scheme that requires Design & Build certifier etc? Inchbyinch Posted June 2, 2016 Author Share Posted June 2, 2016 I opted out of the official building control regs so I don't need all that certification. While the process itself ensures buildings are built right, it does seem to be a sledge hammer to crack a walnut approach. Completely dependent on engineers and builders to insure buildings. I have no bother with that if you can afford it but it does cost and I would estimate about 10-13% of your build Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I thought there was some way to get on without it for a one off build but wasn't sure if they had brought it in yet. People i have spoken to were talking crazy costs for the extra certs.
