Volumetric vs Barrel mixers

Vijay

Recommended Posts

I used a company for my footings who mixed in a volumetric mixer on site. I used more than I originally thought I would and someone has said to me that you use approx. 18% more concrete when it's mixed on site, than in a depot and delivered to site. Something to do with how the dry vs mixed amount is measured out/sold/weighed. Has anyone ever heard of that as I will be ordering a lot more concrete over the next few months?

Cheers

I deliver concrete and we only use volumetric mixers due to it being more practical for the customers

1: you only pay for what you have

2: it's freshly mixed on site for you.

as for asking how it's measured. Each mix

i.e c25, c30, c35 has its one set up and you adjust the gravel and sand gates to each mix setting. It is then measure via sensors on the belt that delivers the sand and gravel
